Job Responsibilities
In this position, you will first-assist in orthopaedic spine surgeries 1-2 days per week while also managing a variety of clinical responsibilities. You will work closely with the surgeon and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient care for spine conditions, including those related to motor vehicle accidents (MVA), workers' compensation, and personal injury protection (PIP) cases.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in spine surgeries (first-assist) 1-2 days/week
• Perform pre- and post-operative evaluations, consultations, and follow-up visits
• Interpret and review diagnostic imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT)
• Develop and manage individualized patient treatment plans
• Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, and recovery
• Collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons, pain management, and physical therapy teams
Qualifications
• Licensure: Active NJ Physician Assistant license
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in orthopaedic spine care with OR first-assist experience (recent graduates will not be considered)
• Background: Must have experience in private practice settings (not hospital-based) and familiarity with an out-of-network practice model
• Specialty Knowledge: Extensive experience in spine surgeries and clinical care for MVA, Workers' Comp, and PIP patients
• Credentialing: Must be willing to remove all in-network credentialing before start date due to payer restrictions
