We are seeking a highly qualified professional to provide expert coverage at a prominent cancer care center. This role offers a vital chance to contribute to patient care in a dynamic, outpatient and inpatient oncology setting, helping to support a specialized team during a specified period.
In this role, you will deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care, including managing adult and geriatric oncology patients, assisting with bone marrow transplants, blood bank responsibilities, ordering tests and imaging, and collaborating closely with Nurse Oncologists for chemotherapy administration. The position requires adaptability, clinical expertise in oncology, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Required Skills:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in South Carolina or eligible for licensure
- Proven experience in oncology, with the ability to manage both outpatient and inpatient cases
- Strong knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, blood bank procedures, and diagnostic ordering
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills
- Proficiency in using the EPIC electronic medical record system
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Effective communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with bone marrow transplant management
- Prior experience in a cancer center or similar outpatient setting
- Knowledge of pediatric oncology (beneficial but not required)
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in oncology or hematology
- Prior locum or temporary coverage experience preferred
Other Requirements:
- Availability to start on December 25, 2025, with coverage needed through September 30, 2026
- Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Call responsibilities include triaging patient phone calls and hospital outreach during scheduled times, with inpatient rounding on weekends
- Credentialing estimated to take up to 60 days
- Willingness to provide documentation for credentialing purposes
- Facility covers travel, hotel, rental car, and mileage at IRS standard rates
