We are actively seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for a long-term locums opportunity in Detroit, Michigan, supporting an established occupational health and primary care setting. This is a full-time, onsite role with a predictable weekday schedule and no call requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a structured clinical environment focused on employee health, injury care, and workplace wellness, with strong administrative and clinical support.
Position Highlights
• Location: Detroit, MI
• Assignment Type: Locums (ongoing need)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Some days may require an earlier start time depending on operational needs
• No call / no weekends
• Onsite role
Clinical Scope
• Occupational medicine and employee health
• Primary care and acute injury evaluation
• Work-related injury treatment and follow-up
• Return-to-work evaluations and documentation
• Workers’ compensation cases
• OSHA-related evaluations and compliance support
• Minor procedures as appropriate
Clinical Environment
• Supported by nursing and administrative staff
• Average patient volume: approximately 7–10 patients per day
• EMR system in place
• Structured workflows and protocols
Requirements
• Active Michigan Physician Assistant license
• NCCPA certification
• BLS (ACLS a plus)
• Prior experience in occupational medicine, employee health, urgent care, or primary care strongly preferred
• Comfort managing work-related injuries and documentation
• Strong communication and documentation skills
Credentialing & Onboarding
• Interview process conducted virtually
• Orientation provided (typically 1–2 days)
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 2–3 weeks
• No COVID vaccine requirement
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on background, experience, and skill set.
