Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant training program.
- Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in Georgia and South Carolina.
- BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
- CDME Certification and listing on the National Registry preferred but not required.
- Experience and education in Occupational Health; familiarity with Workers Compensation injury care and DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle examinations preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize clinical judgment to diagnose patients, develop treatment plans, and manage care.
- Provide direct patient care or virtual care, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
- Administer medical treatment and services for work-related injuries or illnesses.
- Order non-scheduled and scheduled medications within state and federal regulations.
- Perform procedures based on licensure, state practice act, and approved privileges.
- Explain medical conditions and treatments in easy-to-understand terms.
- Conduct DOT physicals according to FMSCA standards and maintain related documentation.
- Communicate updates on workers' compensation injury care to the employer or responsible party.
