Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant training program.
  • Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in Georgia and South Carolina.
  • BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
  • CDME Certification and listing on the National Registry preferred but not required.
  • Experience and education in Occupational Health; familiarity with Workers Compensation injury care and DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle examinations preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize clinical judgment to diagnose patients, develop treatment plans, and manage care.
  • Provide direct patient care or virtual care, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
  • Administer medical treatment and services for work-related injuries or illnesses.
  • Order non-scheduled and scheduled medications within state and federal regulations.
  • Perform procedures based on licensure, state practice act, and approved privileges.
  • Explain medical conditions and treatments in easy-to-understand terms.
  • Conduct DOT physicals according to FMSCA standards and maintain related documentation.
  • Communicate updates on workers' compensation injury care to the employer or responsible party.
