Position Summary

A busy outpatient neurology practice is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to provide high-quality follow-up patient care. This role involves performing comprehensive assessments, managing chronic and acute conditions, coordinating care with other providers, and supporting ongoing patient education. No hospital rounds or new patient evaluations are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and follow-up assessments.

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological and general medical conditions.

  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as laboratory studies and imaging.

  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide patient education, counseling, and ongoing support for disease management.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.

  • Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, as needed.

  • Document all patient encounters using the electronic medical record system (EclinicalWorks preferred).

  • Utilize and manage durable medical equipment (DME) when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Active Physician Assistant License.

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies

  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EclinicalWorks preferred).

  • Strong clinical knowledge of medical procedures and treatments.

  • Ability to provide care for patients aged 21 and older (occasional cases of patients aged 18).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.

  • Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME).
