Job description
Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery Physician Practice team here in Somerset KY.
- Inpatient only
- Responsible for primary neurosurgery call during shift
- Perform patient histories and physical exams
- Handles daily patient rounds, patient education and discharge summaries
- Provide preoperative preparation and postoperative clinical management services
- Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team
- Responsible for keeping medical records current and complete
- Analyze and interpret data, formulates problem lists and establishes plans for solutions to clinical problems
- Performs and or coordinates discharge planning including writing prescriptions, filling out individual medication sheets, arranging home health care, cardiac rehab and other services as indicated by patient needs
- Initiate communicate with referring physicians, consultants and patient families on the status of patients.
