Advanced Practice Provider – Inpatient Transplant Nephrology (NP or PA)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Department: Transplant Nephrology
Employment Type: Full-Time, permanent position
Setting: Inpatient Transplant Services
Position Overview
This role joins a growing and collaborative inpatient transplant nephrology team focused on the care of kidney and pancreas transplant patients. The APP provides specialized inpatient management for early post-operative and long-term post-transplant patients, along with consultative support for other solid organ transplant services.
Clinical Focus
* Kidney transplant patients
* Pancreas and kidney-pancreas transplant patients
* Inpatient consultative transplant nephrology
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive inpatient care for post-kidney and post-pancreas transplant patients
* Manage patients in both early post-operative and remote post-transplant phases
* Provide consultative support to other solid organ transplant teams
* Perform advanced assessments and interpret diagnostic studies
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
* Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies
* Collaborate closely with transplant nephrologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
* Educate patients and families on recovery, treatment plans, and long-term transplant care
* Participate in quality improvement, research, and professional development initiatives
* Contribute through committee work, mentorship, and leadership activities

Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
* Master’s degree from an accredited NP program
* Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (ACNP)
* Active or eligible Arizona RN and APRN licensure
Physician Assistant
* Graduate of an accredited PA program
* NCCPA certification
* Active or eligible Arizona PA licensure
Preferred Experience
* Nephrology, transplant medicine, or hospital internal medicine experience
* Inpatient or acute care background
Additional Requirements
* BLS and ACLS certification
* DEA registration
* Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Commitment to continuous professional growth and ethical practice
