NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, located in the heart of Brooklyn, accommodate more than 518,076 outpatient visits, more than 141,328 emergency room visits, and with 627 beds, more than 25,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.
Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities:
The nephrology Physician assistant will be responsible for the care of renal patients with the nephrologist in:
- The care of ambulatory hemodialysis patients in the Kings county outpatient hemodialysis unit under the direction of the nephrologist. Responsibilities including placing orders, following lab results, admissions. history and physical, referrals, medication prescriptions and approvals, participating in team care of the patient and administrative responsibility in the quality outcomes of the hemodialysis unit.
- In patient nephrology consultation notes as part of the team with the nephrologist.
- Nephrology clinic as needed for education of patients for renal replacement therapy options.
- Further duties as requested by the Director of Service.
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable in internal medicine/ emergency medicine/ surgery
- Current licensed NYC registration as Physician Assistant
- Current NCCPA certification
- Graduate from approved Medicial School

- Salary Range: $123,000 -$163,000
