Job description ### Neonatal NP/PA opening in Portland, OR – Level III NICU Location: Portland, OR – Pacific Northwest Coverage Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Not Locums) ### Assignment/Call Details: * Ideal Start Date: 3/1/2025 * Schedule: 12-hour or 24-hour in-house shifts * 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM * 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM * Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours * Call: None * Practice Setting: Inpatient NICU * NICU Level: Level III (teaching hospitals) * Patient Volume: ~10 patients/day at lower-acuity site ~22 patients/day at higher-acuity site * Admissions Required: No * Coverage Locations: Two Level III NICUs within the same health system * Support Staff: 5 RNs, 13 NNPs/APPs on the team * Privileges Required: No * Temporary Privileges: Not available * EMR: Epic * Credentialing Timeframe: ~60–90 days --- ### Clinical Details: * Management of high-risk neonates and infants * Significant delivery room coverage with high delivery volumes * Perform neonatal procedures and provide unit-based support * Autonomy in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies * Physicians partner closely but NNPs/APPs manage their own service patients * Family-centered, team-based NICU model * Higher-acuity and more intensive neonatal care exposure available --- ### Skills Required: * Neonatal intensive care management * Delivery room resuscitation and support * Neonatal procedures * Diagnostic test ordering and interpretation * High-acuity NICU clinical decision-making --- ### Requirements: * Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant * Completion of a 12-month Neonatal NP/PA fellowship or residency * Board Certified / eligible per specialty * Active Oregon license or willingness to obtain * Prior high-volume delivery room experience strongly preferred * Clean malpractice and background history * No supervision of APPs required * No resident or teaching supervision required --- ### Compensation & Benefits: * Competitive employed compensation package * Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision) * Retirement plan options * Paid malpractice coverage * Long-term stability within a well-established NICU program
