*APN – NICU opening in Boston, Massachusetts - 10 miles from Boston Details:

  • FT, permanent
  • The APN ‚Äì NICU provides guidance and situational support to nursing staff and other disciplines.
  • This person assists the program medical director with the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Training, evaluation and competencies for this role are overseen by a Nurse Leader to the department.
Essential Responsibilities: Assumes responsibility for assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of the plan of care for a panel of patients and/or episodic needs according to professional and organizational standards for quality and productivity. Assesses total needs of patient population including pre-admission and post-discharge scenarios and continuing care needs. Collaborates with other health care disciplines within the medical center and community to develop effective patient care programs and to analyze cost-benefit and value. Identifies learning needs of patients and staff and collaborates with other team to determine priorities for educational programs. Participates in interdisciplinary education programs of the unit and provides clinical precepting for nursing students, nurse practioner students, medical students and others. About Hospital: 200+ bed community hospital. Four-time Magnet Status designated. Separate ASC and Endoscopy Suite. Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing required. License Nurse Practitioner License required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required. 0-1 years related work experience required. MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG Valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Certificate Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases Preferred Qualifications: - 1-3 years previous NICU experience. - Certification by the NCC the National Certification Corporation – The National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties About Location: Life in Boston offers a mix of urban living and access to nature.
