Primary Functions:

The Assistant Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) will provide assistance to Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs in the supervision of Program Administrators, Program Managers, Residency Coordinators, and Administrative Coordinators in designated programs and GME staff across the Einstein Network (Einstein Philadelphia and Montgomery). Under the supervision of the Director of Academic Affairs, he/she provides management Division of Education Budgets. The Assistant Director is responsible for compliance of institutional OAA fiscal/regulatory processes as defined by Director of Academic Affairs, Designated Institutional Official and Chief Academic Officer across the Einstein Network.

  • The Assistant Director manages processes and procedures in conjunction with the Finance Office to facilitate accurate Centers for Medicare Services cost reporting for residents and fellows.
  • The Assistant Director works with the Director of Academic Affairs in the supervision of new residencies programs at EMCM and is responsible for programs’ administrative staff, GME staff, and GME processes at both AEMC and EMCM. The Assistant Director will spend time on site at EMCM in the management of GME and residency staff.
  • The Assistant Director is responsible for executing policies and procedures related to immigration matters for Einstein network residents and fellows.
  • The Assistant Director assists the Director of Academic Affairs with execution of procedures related to the representation of Einstein Network to the National Residency Match Program, National Match Service, and New Innovations and assists with the coordination of Office of Academic Affairs functions with these entities and others.
  • The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Director of Academic Affairs to monitor, track, and facilitate renewal of academic affiliation agreements and other contracts pertaining to Office of Academic Affairs functions.
  • Provides support and assistance to Director of Academic Affairs in collaboration with various Departments across the network to develop and implement processes and standards related to the Office of Academic Affairs scope of responsibility.
  • Attends regional and national professional meetings to keep apprised of changes and current trends within GME and applies information to daily work routine and provides feedback to program administrators and coordinators regarding new information
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing or social science is preferred with five years of healthcare administration experience, including a minimum of 3 years in graduate medical and continuing medical education and complete familiarity with accreditation requirements, as well as knowledge of visa processing.
  • Equivalent experience (10 years or more in graduate and continuing medical education setting within an academic healthcare setting) may be substituted.
  • Must have excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
