Required Skills
- Valid certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
- Prior experience assisting in various surgical procedures, including elective and critical surgeries
- Strong knowledge of surgical protocols, aseptic techniques, and patient safety standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adapt to fast-paced environments
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience working in a hospital or surgical center setting
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Basic knowledge of hospital policies and compliance standards
- Bilingual proficiency (preferred in some settings)
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certification as a CSFA from an accredited organization
- Minimum 2 years of professional surgical assisting experience
- Prior experience in OR settings supporting surgical teams
Other Requirements
- Willingness to adhere to McLaren Northern’s strict attendance policy; absences and tardiness will be monitored (policy effective from 6/1/2024)
- Ability to work weekdays during daytime hours
- Must possess valid licensure and certifications related to surgical assistance
- Travel reimbursement provided if applicable
