UNCPN Internal Medicine at Goldsborois seeking adedicated and skilled Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto support our internal medicine team with a strong emphasis onacute care and complex case management. This is a great opportunity to practice in acollaborative, hospital-affiliated outpatient settingwhere patients present with a wide range of urgent and high-acuity needs.
Position Highlights:
- Evaluate and treat acute medical conditions and urgent care needs in adult and geriatric populations
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other team members to develop rapid, effective treatment plans
- Provide care for patients recently discharged from the hospital or ED, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing readmissions
- Manage short-term follow-up appointments for acute illnesses and exacerbations of chronic disease
- Participate in triage, diagnostics, treatment, and management of higher-acuity cases within the clinic
- Monday–Friday schedule, with no nights or weekends required
Qualifications:
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina (or eligible)
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
- Acute care or internal medicine experience preferred; however, new graduates with strong clinical training in acute care settings are encouraged to apply
- BLS and ACLS certification required
