Job description
We are seeking a Locums Hospitalist Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide daytime hospitalist coverage in Live Oak, Texas. The provider will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary care team to provide high-quality inpatient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage hospitalized adult patients during daytime shifts.
- Perform admissions, follow-up assessments, and cross-coverage as assigned.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the hospitalist team.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Respond to urgent and emergent patient-care needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families.
- Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation.
Requirements
- NP: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with national certification.
- PA: Graduate of an ARC-PA-approved Physician Assistant program with current NCCPA certification.
- Active or eligible for appropriate Texas licensure.
- Current BLS certification required.
