Inpatient NP Hospitalist Opportunity in Kansas City, MO
Position: Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Atchison, MO
Overview:
The Group is seeking a full-time Hospitalist APRN to join the inpatient acute medical unit team. This role works under the direction of the Medical Director of Inpatient Services and is responsible for managing a 21-bed unit. Enjoy a collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary team, a manageable daily census of 9-12 patients (max 21), including up to 4 ICU patients, and flexibility to complete documentation off-site after daily rounds.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, case management, therapy, social work, and nursing
Manage inpatient care from admission to discharge
Order and interpret labs, diagnostics, and treatment plans
Complete required documentation per Medical Staff Rules and Bylaws
Educate patients on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care
Provide excellent bedside manner and effective communication
Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nursing required
Doctorate in Nursing Practice preferred
Active Kansas Nurse Practitioner license and DEA license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum of 2 years' hospitalist or acute care experience required
3+ years' experience preferred
Additional Info:
Travel: Periodic as needed
Patient census: 9-12 per day on average, not to exceed 21
ICU patients: Maximum of 4
Workload includes documentation flexibility post-rounds
