A hospital in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Hospitalist Physician Assistant to support the Orthopedic Surgery team, for full time coverage starting in September. Apply today to be considered for this opening and/or others.

  • Pay Rate: $115/hour (on 1099)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p) w/ call
  • Full time locum coverage starting in September
  • Expenses Covered: Malpractice, Travel/Lodging
Job Details:
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient
  • Schedule (Shifts/Hours): M-F with Call (call schedule TBD at a later date)
  • Average Number of Patients Per Day: 10-20
  • Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
  • Trauma Level/Designation: Level III
  • Patient Age Demographic: Adult
  • Clinical Areas: In Patient Surgery
  • Supervising Physician Present During Assignment - All PA's have a oversight provider
Job Requirements/Procedures:
*Willing to consider candidates with experience in some or all procedures.
  • Non-Invasive Vent Management (bipap/cpap)
  • Ventilation Management
  • Intubation (ETT/INT)
  • Central Line
  • Chest Tube Insertion
  • Arterial Line
  • PA Catheter
  • PICC Line
  • EKG Interpretation
  • I&D
  • History and Physicals
  • Pre-Op Assessment
  • Areas of Rounding
  • Arthrocentesis
  • *This provider will also function as a Hospitalist for rounding on patients in-house and call*
