Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Opportunity – Community-Based Setting
*Location: Coupeville, WA - Seattle 55m | Setting: Onsite | Schedule: Full-Time, 4x10 Hour Days (Day Shift)*
Position Overview
The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, compassionate care for patients with life-limiting or terminal illnesses. This role focuses on alleviating suffering, managing complex symptoms, and improving quality of life for both patients and their families across home, outpatient, and inpatient settings.
Responsibilities
* Conduct home, clinic, and inpatient consultations for symptom management, goals of care discussions, and advanced care planning
* Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and screenings based on individualized patient needs
* Manage complex pain and symptoms using evidence-based pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies
* Provide counseling and education to patients and families throughout illness trajectory and into bereavement
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and document comprehensive care
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and palliative care education efforts within the organization
Qualifications
* Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program
* Active Washington State RN & NP license
* Board Certification as Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner (nationally accredited agency)
* Minimum 3 years of professional experience in palliative or hospice care (or formal palliative training)
* Current BLS and unrestricted DEA license
* ACHPN certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 12–18 months
Compensation & Benefits
* Annual salary range: $130,000 – $140,000
* Potential sign-on incentive and call compensation
* Full benefits eligibility at 0.5 FTE or higher (medical, retirement, paid time off, and more) Estimated pay range/amount is Negotiable.
