Job Overview – Physician Assistant (Surgical Gynecology):
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000/year
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM & Thursday–Friday in hospital starting at 7:00 AM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Physician Assistant (Surgical Gynecology) in New York, NY with our client. This hybrid role covers pre-op evaluations, peri-op and post-op care, diagnostics, and surgical assistance. You will also review pathology, manage wound care, and support weekend rounding. OB/GYN or surgical experience and familiarity with laparoscopy or the Da Vinci system are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities as the Physician Assistant (Surgical Gynecology):
- Clinical Evaluation & Patient Care: Perform patient assessments, follow-ups, pelvic exams, gynecologic diagnostics, and ongoing clinical management.
- Care Planning & Documentation: Develop treatment plans with supervising physicians, manage prescriptions and referrals, and maintain accurate EHR documentation.
- Perioperative Management: Support all phases of pre- and post-operative care, including counseling, check-ins, discharge planning, and postoperative monitoring.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist in the operating room for laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic procedures, with training provided as needed.
- Rounding & Collaboration: Participate in weekend hospital rounds and on-call triage while collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
- Licensure & Certification: Active New York State PA license, NCCPA board certification, and current BLS/ACLS certifications required.
- Experience: 2+ years in a surgical specialty or OB/GYN, with strong preference for experience in pre-operative and postoperative patient care.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with gynecologic procedures, perioperative workflows, OR protocols, and robotic/laparoscopic surgery preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Patient-centered clinician with strong communication, solid clinical judgment, and the ability to work well in outpatient and inpatient surgical settings.
- Other Requirements: Ability to support rotating weekend on-call coverage and occasional Saturday visits as required.
