Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Geriatric Care


SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time
- Part-Time
- Part-Time to Full-Time
- 12 Hours per Week Minimum
- 8-Hour and 4-Hour Shifts Available
- Monday through Friday
- No Evenings
- No Weekends
- No Holidays


FULL-TIME COMPENSATION:
- $95,000 to $120,000+ Base Salary, negotiable depending on experience

COMPANY PROFILE:
This private practice opened in 2013 and currently employs an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health professionals, and nutrition professionals, along with a robust support staff. The practice provides a full scope of internal medicine and geriatric primary care services in a variety of settings and locations.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The nurse practitioner or physician assistant is responsible for providing high-quality primary healthcare services to a panel of geriatric patients. This includes diagnosing and treating acute and chronic diseases, collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, coordinating overall patient care, and disease prevention and management.

Providers see patients in a clinic setting, as well as assisted living facilities (ALFs) and occasionally in private homes (house calls).

Providers see 8 to 15 patients per day depending on setting, travel time, and types of appointments scheduled.

All clinic locations, ALFs, and patient homes are located in Montgomery County.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:


- comprehensive physical examinations and screenings
- preventive health measures
- diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses
- order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (labs, x-rays, EKGs, etc.)
- perform minor clinical procedures (blood draws, ear lavage, spirometry, etc.)
- formulate treatment plans and prognoses
- prescribe or recommend medications and therapies (PT, OT, etc.)
- educate patients and families on disease prevention and treatment plans


The practice uses the Office Ally EHR.


REQUIREMENTS:
- Maryland NP or PA license
- DEA
- appropriate board certification (PA-C, AGNP, FNP, etc.)
- 1+ year advanced practice experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years relevant RN experience may be substituted
