**Geriatric Nurse Practitioner openings in Cedar Rapids, IA** 120m from Des Moines **Benefits Details** - Competitive hourly rate + RVU component - Attractive incentive package - A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in. - Full benefits, generous CME allowance, malpractice insurance, 401K retirement with employer contributions, 457B retirement savings and more  - A commitment to ensuring you have a voice that is heard regardless of role, race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.  - Support and  development opportunities that are a crucial part of delivering a remarkable employment experience.  - A culture guided by uncompromising values and unwavering belief in doing whats right for the people we serve. **Position Details** - Established team of 2 Advanced Practitioners - Clinical support includes nurse care coordinators, survivorship nurse practitioner, and collaboration with the Oncology specialists - .8 FTE Full-time position, , with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access **Opportunity Details** - No Holidays, and no nights or weekends - Patient-focused, friendly, and willing to collaborate in a team environment - Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills - Provides evaluation of patient and/or family for confirming, diagnosing, or ruling out a hereditary genetic condition, identifying medical management issues, calculating and communicating genetic risks and/or providing or arranging for testing and psychosocial support. - Establish with the patient and family what information they desire to learn about their genetic situation and confirm their understanding that the genetic counseling that is provided is educational and that no decisions will be made for them. - Remain impartial and objective in providing information that will allow patients to make their own rational decisions commensurate with their private concerns and desires. - Gathers and reviews pertinent medical records in preparation for clinic visit. - Provides pretest counseling prior to ordering genetic testing. **Qualifications** - Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified - Specialized education in genetics including one of the following - American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC), American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG), Genetics Clinical Nurse (GCN), Advanced - - Practice Nurse in Genetics (APNG) credentialed through the Genetics Nursing Credentialing Commission (GNCC). - Advanced practice oncology nurse prepared at the graduate level with specialized education in cancer genetics and hereditary cancer, ONC certification is preferred. - Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa - Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice - Eligible to work in the United States
