Seeking a Physician Assistant (Gastroenterology) for a full-time locum opportunity in Potsdam, NY. This role offers a stable weekday schedule in a high-acuity adult GI practice with strong clinical support and a collaborative care environment.

Schedule & Coverage

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Full-time coverage needed
• No call required
• Occasional unit workflow consistency with established clinic operations
• Start Date: 07/06/2026
• Contract Length: 26 weeks

Practice Setting

• Outpatient + inpatient Gastroenterology service
• Adults only (18+)
• Daily patient load: ~14–18 patients
• EMR: Epic
• Medication system: Pyxis
• Hospital-based GI service with integrated procedural support

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult GI patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans
• Assist with procedures (as applicable to scope)
• Coordinate consults with other specialties when needed
• Provide patient and family education on GI conditions and treatment plans
• Document encounters in compliance with regulatory and billing standards
• Participate in care coordination and follow-up planning

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State PA License (required)
• Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience
• BLS certification required
• Experience in Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine strongly preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Board certification not specified but strong clinical competency expected

Team Structure

• 1 Physician on service
• 1 APP on unit
• Nursing and clinical support staff available
• Structured workflow with interdisciplinary collaboration
