We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant – Gastroenterology for a locum tenens opportunity in Potsdam, New York. This is a full-time outpatient-based role focused on managing adult patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.
Practice Details
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Coverage: Full-time, no call
- Setting: Outpatient clinic
- Patient Population: Adults
- Patient Volume: Approx. 14–18 patients/day
- EMR: EPIC

Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal conditions
Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Document patient care in compliance with regulatory standards
Order and monitor appropriate treatments and medications
Refer complex cases to supervising physicians as needed
Qualifications
Active New York license (required) 🗽
Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Gastroenterology or related field 📈
BLS certification (AHA) required 💓
Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
Working Hours
No call responsibilities
30-minute lunch break (required)
Skills
Strong knowledge of gastroenterology and internal medicine
Ability to manage outpatient cases independently
Proficiency in EPIC EMR 💻
Excellent patient communication and counseling skills
Team collaboration and clinical decision-making
