Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant
Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin
Department: Gastroenterology & Hepatology
Employment Type: Full-Time
Setting: Community-Based Practice (Outpatient & Inpatient)
Position Overview
This position offers the opportunity to join a growing gastroenterology and hepatology practice with a balance of clinic and inpatient responsibilities. The Advanced Practice Provider works collaboratively with GI physicians while maintaining autonomy in patient care, including in-person and telemedicine visits.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform GI-specific histories and physical examinations
* Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results
* Develop and implement individualized care plans
* Provide patient education related to gastroenterology, nutrition, and hepatology conditions
* Deliver follow-up care for GI patients across care settings
* Provide direct patient care in both clinic and inpatient environments
* Utilize telemedicine to support patient access and continuity of care

Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
* Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Active Wisconsin RN and APRN license
* Certification as ANP, FNP, or ACNP
Physician Assistant
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
* NCCPA certification
* Active Wisconsin PA license
Required
* DEA registration
* BLS certification
* ACLS certification required within one year of hire
Additional Qualifications
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong patient assessment and diagnostic skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
