Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a conscientious, compassionate, and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join an established, collaborative Gastroenterology practice of 7 physicians and 10 APPs in Wilmington, NC. We are looking for a patient-focused, compassionate, caring, and honest provider who enjoys a care team approach, educating patients and is committed to the health and wellness of not only our patients but the communities from which they come. This opportunity allows for inpatient and outpatient care and coordinating patient procedures in both the ambulatory and inpatient setting. This is a combination practice base and hospital rotation position. Two APPs are assigned to the GI hospital service for a two-week period on a rotating basis. 8-5 hospital weekend rotation 1:8 weeks, followed by two weekdays off. Our onsite Endoscopy Center received five consecutive years of national recognition including 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for the Top 5% in Patient Experience and in 2021-2024 Newsweek America's Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Previous clinical experience in GI, Primary Care, or another specialty required.
Our expert surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants work collaboratively to provide remarkable care to our operative and non-operative patients. The selected APP will be responsible for performing a variety of functions under the supervision of our physicians. These functions, though not all-inclusive, include seeing patients in the clinic setting, performing office procedures, and rounding on the GI service at our acute facilities.
Being a southern coastal town, Wilmington offers a variety of activities: historic downtown, Thalian Hall performing arts center, beaches and water activities, fishing nightlife, golf, tennis, great restaurants. Qualifications
Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master's NP program required.
Experience: One to three years of experience in Gastroenterology preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registery with state nursing board, ACLS, DEA registry required.
Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
