Our client, a well-known network of Family Health Centers with locations throughout New York City that provides care across all major medical and mental health specialties, is hiring a Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant will provide assessment of, and treatment for, health problems of residents in temporary housing.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the medical needs of the homeless population.
  • Provide care to patients with acute or subacute medical problems as well as chronic disorders.
  • Develop and implement a plan of care for each patient, including additional diagnostic studies and treatments, including prescribing medications within protocols under physician's supervision.
  • Participate in ongoing sessions with supervising physician regarding medical care responsibilities.
  • Assist in developing procedures and protocols for patient care.
  • Participate in peer review sessions and other Quality Improvement activities.
  • Maintain and increase clinical skills by participating in professional training.
  • Collect and report statistical data on services provided to patients.
  • Immediately report any problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standards, and Center policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in Ambulatory Care Setting and Community Health Care
  • Mobile Van/Outreach experience
  • New York State Physician Assistant License
