Job Responsibilities

• Provide preventive and acute care in the specialty area
• Assess and diagnose patient conditions and develop treatment plans collaboratively with physicians
• Administer treatments, perform physical exams, and review medical histories
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Prescribe and dispense medications and other treatments
• Educate and counsel patients and families
• Maintain patient records and ensure safety and quality standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams and clinical research
• Serve as a resource and precept APP students

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Current, unencumbered PA or APRN license in Connecticut
• Connecticut Controlled Substance and DEA licenses
• BLS & ACLS certifications required (or must be acquired prior to start)
• ENLS certification preferred
• Experience in inpatient critical care and neuro-critical care is preferred

Working Hours

• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating holidays and every third weekend
