Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Neonatal Physician Assistant
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Setting: Level III NICU in a high-delivery hospital
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour rotating shifts; 50/50 days and nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Length: Up to 12 months
• Start Date: November 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $4,090 - $4,380
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Patient Volume: Approximately 12-15 patients per shift
• Unit Size: 48 beds

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of neonatology experience
• Physician Assistant certification or eligibility with neonatal experience
• Prior NICU or acute neonatal care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to perform neonatal procedures, including intubation, umbilical line placement, and thoracentesis
• Lumbar puncture experience preferred
• DEA required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with attending physicians and residents

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced neonatal care for infants in a Level III NICU
• Assess, monitor, and manage neonates with a range of clinical needs
• Perform procedures and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Partner with in-house attendings and residents to support safe, coordinated care
• Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and ongoing clinical progress
• Support efficient unit flow while helping deliver high-quality outcomes for neonatal patients
