This hybrid role plays a central part within the investment finance function, supporting the financial stewardship of multiple investment vehicles holding real assets. The Assistant Controller oversees accounting activities across portfolios, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency from underlying property-level records through consolidated investor reporting. The position offers exposure to a wide range of investment structures, ownership arrangements, and transaction types, along with opportunities to contribute to investor-driven initiatives and support tax-related planning efforts.

Job Description:


Compensation : $150000 - $160000 Job ID : 42849

Job Function:

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for day-to-day portfolio accounting, including the review and oversight of information produced by external property and asset managers.
  • Direct accounting operations for wholly owned investments and complex partnership arrangements, including consolidation across multiple legal entities.
  • Oversee the financial integration of new investments as well as the accounting treatment for asset exits, refinancings, and capital events.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of periodic financial reporting packages for internal stakeholders and external investors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for annual audits, managing the process from planning through final issuance of financial statements.
  • Monitor leverage arrangements by reviewing financing agreements and ensuring covenant adherence and reporting obligations are satisfied.
  • Collaborate with firmwide finance teams on performance analytics, budgeting processes, and compliance-related deliverables.

Job Requirements:

  • Approximately 5-9 years of real estate fund accounting experience.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with real estate accounting software.
