Advanced Practice Provider Opportunity – Outpatient Clinical Setting
Location: Austin, Texas
Setting: Outpatient / Primary Care / Float
Employment Type: Full-Time, permanent position
Position Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to provide direct clinical care in the assigned specialty area under the supervision and delegated authority of a physician. This role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting clinical operations and compliance standards.
Position Highlights
• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments
• Provide patient and family education
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EMR
• Work within the scope of delegated clinical privileges
• Participate in collaborative, team-based care
• Support high standards of clinical practice and quality care
Primary Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations
• Order and review laboratory and diagnostic studies
• Diagnose and treat illness, disease, and injuries
• Refer patients for specialty consultation when appropriate
• Provide preventive care and health education
• Direct and collaborate with clinical and ancillary staff during patient care
• Respond to clinical inquiries from staff and patients
• Report required clinical information to regulatory authorities when applicable
• Participate in quality improvement and operational processes
• Maintain professionalism and patient-centered communication
• Complete documentation accurately and timely in the medical record
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong patient relationship-building and customer service skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of clinical knowledge and diagnostic competency
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and urgent clinical needs
• Competency using electronic health records and software systems
• Ability to function effectively in a team-based care environment
• Understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards
• Experience in patient-centered and integrated care settings preferred
Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited School of Physician Assistant program
OR Master’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing
Licensure & Certifications
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas
OR unrestricted license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Texas
• Current certification in area of specialty
• DEA license for prescribing
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association)
