A leading hedge fund in New York is seeking a high-performing, self-motivated Senior Fund Accountant / Assistant Controller to join its high performing Fund Accounting team. This Fund's culture is extremely tight knit, with numerous extracurricular activities they participate in together, and will work closely with multiple functions across the fund such as IR, operations, etc.
Job Description:
Compensation : $180000 - $300000 Job ID : 41786
Job Function:
- Strengthen and maintain the firm’s control environment, working closely with the fund administrator and internal teams including Operations, Compliance, Middle Office, and Investor Relations.
- Support the monthly close with the fund administrator
- Prepare and review weekly performance estimates and assist in producing performance reporting for management and portfolio managers.
- Perform regular P&L reconciliations and investigate variances between internal systems and the fund administrator.
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives to enhance processes and controls, leveraging both internal capabilities and those of the fund administrator.
- Utilize technology and AI tools to automate processes, improve efficiency, and streamline reporting workflows.
- Assist with global regulatory filings (e.g., Form PF, CPO-PQR, MAS regulatory requirements) and annual audit processes.
- Partner with Investor Relations and other internal teams to address investor inquiries and respond to ad-hoc requests.
Job Requirements:
Approximately 4–8 years of accounting experience in public accounting or private industry.
Background in hedge funds or financial services is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
Strong Excel skills with experience working with large and complex data sets.
