Our client, a growing services organization, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team in NY. This role will play a key part in corporate operational accounting and management reporting, supporting leadership with accurate financial insights and driving process improvements. Job Description:


Compensation : $130000 - $160000 Job ID : 39918

Job Function:

  • Financial statement preparation: Consolidate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to summarize the company's financial status.

  • Budgeting and forecasting: Assist with the annual budget process, financial forecasting, and analyze cost variances to support financial planning.

  • Audit and compliance: Serve as a liaison to external auditors and ensure all accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulations.

  • Internal controls: Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and policies to protect company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

  • General ledger management: Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts.

  • Team management: Supervise and delegate tasks to junior accounting staff, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.


Job Requirements:

  • CPA designation with 5+ years of public accounting experience.

  • 2 years in public accounting is required.

  • Strong operational accounting experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Outlook).

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems preferred.

  • Background in wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or inventory management industries strongly preferred.

Qualifications

CPA designation with 5+ years of public accounting experience.

2 years in public accounting is required.
