Job description We are seeking a Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 77-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Jan 12, 2026. This role offers a balanced schedule of day shifts (8am to 6pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and involves both primary care and urgent care coverage.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting for primary and urgent care needs
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across a broad patient population
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and wellness counseling
  • Perform in office procedures as clinically appropriate
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and community resources
  • Document all encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, medical assistants, and support teams to ensure high quality patient care
  • Adhere to clinical guidelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements

Additional Information
  • Must hold a valid California license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and DEA registration required
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) required
