Locums | Pre-Op Anesthesia NP/PA | No Call | Eureka, CA Why This Role

  • Pre-operative anesthesia coverage needed due to scheduling gaps
  • Full-time Monday–Friday daytime schedule
  • Strictly outpatient consult work — no OR and no surgical assisting
Assignment Details Start Date: March 1, 2026 End Date: Ongoing Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Setting: Outpatient hospital-based pre-operative clinic Patients per shift: 9 Reason for Coverage: Scheduling need EMR: Epic Support Staff: 3–4 RNs and 1 APP Clinical Details Pre-operative anesthesia consults Risk assessment and history gathering Full consult documentation for day-of-surgery planning Reporting abnormal labs and tests to medical director Answering RN questions and escalating patient concerns Alerting medical director to logistical issues Privileges required because clinic is a hospital outpatient department No OR duties, no first assist, no surgery experience required Requirements CA state license CA DEA NP or PA (no surgical experience required, but must meet pre-op clinical criteria) BLS Must have completed at least 50 clinical services/cases/assessments in an acute care hospital within the past 24 months 2 years of current hospital clinical activity Gaps >3 months must be explained Case logs required at presentation Credentialing timeline begins only when RFA + full application are submitted (RFA returned in 48–72 hours; full app due within 5 days) Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
