Job Details

- Schedule: Night shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am; must be able to provide a minimum of 13 night shifts per month
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign or malignant tumors and diseases
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Conduct debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures
- Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities such as laboratory tests, medications, hemodynamic monitoring, IV fluids and electrolytes, EMG, ECG, radiologic exams (arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI, bone scans)
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Perform urinary bladder catheterization (short term and indwelling)
- Perform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterization
- Complete Death Certificate Protocols
- Remove arterial and central venous catheters, and chest tubes
- Perform fine needle aspiration and punch biopsy of skin
- Demonstrate competence in administering chemotherapy/biotherapy, with at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Active New York license required
- Must hold current ARC-PA accreditation, ACLS, and BCLS certifications
- Experience in inpatient hematology/oncology strongly preferred
