We are seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant for a 16-day locum tenens assignment with our client in New York. This position starts Jan 2, 2026, and features 8a-6p shifts, four days per week, Monday through Friday. The assignment will focus on ambulatory solid tumor cases and requires demonstrated competence in chemotherapy and biotherapy prescribing.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with all types of cancer and benign or malignant tumors
- Work in an ambulatory solid tumor setting
- Prescribe and administer chemotherapy and biotherapy
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Conduct debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
- Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities, including laboratory tests, medications, hemodynamic monitoring, treatments, IV fluids, and imaging studies (ultrasound, CT, MRI, bone scans, etc.)
- Perform urinary bladder catheterization (short term and indwelling)
- Perform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterization
- Complete Death Certificate Protocols
- Remove arterial catheters, central venous catheters, and chest tubes
- Perform fine needle aspiration and punch biopsy of skin
Additional Information
- Must hold current New York state license
- Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications required
- Demonstrated experience in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration within the past 12 months
