Job description We are seeking a Radiation Oncology Physician Assistant for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity starts on Jan 2, 2026, with orientation followed by clinical work beginning Jan 5, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in an ambulatory hemophilia setting.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with all types of cancer, including benign and malignant tumors and diseases, under the supervision of a physician
  • Promote health and protection from disease within the scope of practice
  • Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
  • Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures
  • Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
  • Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities, including laboratory tests, medications, hemodynamic monitoring, treatments, IV fluids and electrolytes, EMG, electrocardiogram, radiologic examinations (arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI, bone scan studies)
  • Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
  • Perform urinary bladder catheterization, including Robinson, coudé, and Foley
  • Perform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterization
  • Complete death certificate protocols
  • Remove arterial catheters, central venous catheters, and chest tubes
  • Perform fine needle aspiration and punch biopsy of skin

Additional Information
  • New York PA license required
  • Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications required
  • Experience in ambulatory hemophilia and hematology/oncology preferred
