Nurse Practitioner Opportunity - Primary Care Setting
*Location: Athens, Georgia | Full-Time, permanent position*
Position Overview
Seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join a collaborative primary care team providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. The Nurse Practitioner will assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions under the supervision of a staff physician, following established clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed patient histories and thorough physical examinations
* Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
* Prescribe medications (Schedules III–V) and manage treatment plans under physician supervision
* Provide emergency care and patient counseling on health habits, nutrition, and lifestyle
* Deliver patient education on disease prevention, chronic care management, and self-care techniques
* Participate in follow-up calls, triage, and community health promotion programs
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
* Engage in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Completion of preceptorship in primary care
* Thorough knowledge of diagnostic and treatment techniques for acute and chronic conditions
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues
Licensure & Certifications
* Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Georgia
* Current certification in CPR, ACLS, BCLS, PALS, ALSO, and/or NRP (as applicable)
