Job Description

Last Update: 2/05/24
Docstar is looking for a Physician Assistant Locum for a Family Practice opening in California. Below are the specific details on the role.

  • PA-C
  • MUST have active PECOS, DEA, BLS, CA license, NP/PA-C certified
  • Start date: ASAP, August 22nd, or anytime next week
  • End date: Friday, September 30th will more than likely extend another 1-2 months
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8-5 PM with a 1 hour lunch (required lunch, cannot work through or get paid for charting during lunch unless approved and discussed with Clinic Manager prior)
  • Family Medicine experience
  • MUST be comfortable seeing all ages (2-100) and treating chronic diseases
  • **Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8-5 PM with a 1 hour lunch (required lunch, cannot work through or get paid for charting during lunch unless approved and discussed with Clinic Manager prior)
  • **NO OVERTIME – 40 hours a week MAX
    • From client: “For providers with 8-5 schedules start their first patient at 7:45am (idea is when provider gets here a patient is ready in room to be seen) last patient is scheduled at 4pm and they are given from 4-5pm to finish charting/or catch up with patient flow if they fall behind.”
  • EMR: They use NextGen but training isn’t always available the first week (sometimes no training at all if it’s a shorter assignment) so they will not have a login to the EMR, but they are assigned a Scribe (MA) for charting, or paper charting, since they will not have access to the EMR when/if training is completed
  • 18-24 patients/day
  • Credentialing is a quick process to get them in their system (DEA, CA license, NPI, DOB, SSN) but then there is still documents required to be completed and submitted for their process to complete all credentialing while on assignment
