NP Endocrinology opportunity in Indiana, PA - Located 55 miles from Pittsburgh Position Details:

  • Full time, permanent position

  • Seeking a Nurse Practitioner for busy endocrinology office.
  • Weekday office hours in two locations: Indiana PA & Richland PA.
  • Meet with a variety of patients in our outpatient endocrine office (you will have your own scheduled patients)
  • Effectively manage acute and chronic medical and behavioral conditions.
  • Complete new and follow-up visits during scheduled office hours.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation, including ICD 10 conditions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Ensure timely delegation of tasks to office staff, which includes ensuring all messages are answered in Cerner within the day.
  • Prescribe a variety of diabetes and other endocrine medications as needed and to the extent that prescriptive authority will allow.
  • Provide patients and caregivers with counseling and education.
  • Review continuous glucose data (dexcom, libre, etc.) at patient and between appointments as indicated (previous experience not needed‚Ķthis will be taught on job).
  • Review insulin pump downloads at and between patient appointments as indicated (also something that will be taught on the job).
Required Qualifications for APP: Clear and active Pennsylvania NP or PA-C license Ability and willingness to learn new things Great Work Ethics Preferred Qualifications for Nurse Practitioner: At least 1-2+ years of experience (in endocrinology or family practice) Experience in meeting the medical needs of patients with complex behavioral, social and/or functional needs Understanding of Geriatrics and Chronic Illness Understanding of Advanced Illness and end of life discussions Proficient computer skills including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records Highly competitive compensation based on experience.
