ICU Physician Assistant - Rochester, New York

A fulfilling opportunity is available for a Physician Assistant in a dedicated ICU setting located in a multidisciplinary Pediatric Cardiac Care Center. This role requires expertise in managing critically ill pediatric congenital cardiac patients, offering a rotating shift schedule and an engaging, fast-paced environment. This position allows you to work closely with a collaborative team to deliver critical care services.

Key Details - Assignment Type: Locum Tenens - Setting: Inpatient - Start Date: ASAP - Schedule: Rotating shifts: 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM; 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM; 50% days and 50% nights - Patient Population: Pediatric - Location: Rochester, NY - Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates

Job Responsibilities - Primary covering provider role managing congenital heart disease with complex anatomy. - Care for pre- and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgical patients. - Management of high-risk patients, arrhythmia, vasopressor support, and ECMO. - Occasionally care for adult patients with congenital heart disease.

Qualifications - 2 years of experience in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU. - Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program. - Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing. - National certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA. - BLS from AHA and PALS from ABA. - Preferred: Pediatric Acute Care Physician Assistant certification.

Working Hours - Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as per unit needs. - 50% day shifts and 50% night shifts.
