Urgent Care PA Locums Needed | Brentwood, Pennsylvania

Urgent Care Locums | Ongoing Coverage

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking NP/PA providers with urgent care or emergency medicine experience for an ongoing locums opportunity in Pennsylvania. This is a great opportunity for providers who are comfortable treating patients of all ages and working independently in a busy urgent care setting.

Assignment Highlights

• 5 FTE providers needed
• Schedule: Monday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
• Approximately 20 shifts/month
• No call
• Provider will work independently/solo with no physician supervision
• Providers will rotate between multiple affiliated urgent care locations, all within approximately 30 miles of one another
• Drive-in candidates only — candidates should live within a 2–3 hour driving radius
• Average patient volume: 3–4 patients per hour
• Sites typically staffed with 1–3 providers per day
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

Providers will manage a typical urgent care patient population, including:

• Cold and flu symptoms
• Rashes
• Abrasions and lacerations
• Sprains and minor orthopedic injuries
• Minor burns
• Wound care and I&Ds
• Splinting
• X-rays and EKGs
• Drawing blood and starting IVs
• Patients requiring a higher level of care will be referred to the local emergency department

Patient Population

• All ages
• Must be comfortable treating pediatric patients age 6 months and older

Requirements

• BC/BE
• Active Pennsylvania license
• PA DEA
• PA CSR
• ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Must have either:
  • 2+ years of urgent care experience, or
  • 1+ year of emergency medicine experience
• Must be comfortable working independently without supervision
• Must be comfortable performing orthopedic procedures, including splinting
• Strong wound care experience required
