  • Coverage Type: Clinical Only
  • Coverage Period: 07/15/2026 Ongoing
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible Schedule; specific shifts TBD COVERAGE DATES
  • Coverage begins July 15, 2026
  • Ongoing coverage required
  • Specific shifts to be scheduled based on facility needs

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: Adults & Geriatrics
  • Rounding: Not Included
  • Case Mix: Emergency Medicine cases including acute illness, minor trauma, and urgent care presentations

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • Office Equipment Available: Standard Emergency Department equipment
  • Specialty Backup Available: As available within the Valley Baptist Health System
  • Support Staff Available: RNs, clinical support staff
  • Reason for Coverage: Cross Credentialing Support

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization
  • Suturing and wound care
  • Splinting and fracture management
  • Basic airway management
  • Emergency diagnostic evaluation and treatment

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Texas Physician Assistant License
  • Board: NCCPA Certification Required
  • DEA: Active DEA Certification
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Experience: Prior Emergency Medicine experience preferred
  • Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency setting

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation within the EMR system
