Physician Assistant – Emergency Medicine
Start Date: July 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks (flexible, ongoing)
Schedule
4×10-hour shifts weekly
11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
No call
Standard ED shift structure
Practice Details
Critical access hospital emergency department
Low-volume ER with approximately 13,000 annual visits
Typical community ED presentations and procedures
EMR: Meditech
Standard workflow for patient evaluations, admissions, and discharges
COVID-19 vaccination with current booster required
Clinical Scope
Evaluate and manage a full range of emergency conditions
Perform ED-appropriate procedures within NP scope
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests
Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers when required
Provide care across all age groups
Work collaboratively with attending physicians and ED staff
Requirements
Physician Assistant – Emergency Medicine or Family PA with recent ED experience
Board Certified
Active Massachusetts NP license required at submission
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP
Familiarity with critical access ED environments preferred
Credentialing
Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~60 days
Must provide verification from MA licensure portal showing board-received items
Full onboarding documentation required
