- Trauma Designation: Level IV
- ED Beds: 20
- ED Admission Rate: 21%
- ED Transfer Rate: 4%
- Staffing Model:
- 10-hour shifts
- 3 Physician shifts per day (total 30 hours)
- 3 APP shifts per day (total 30 hours)
- Shifts will flex 1-2 hours up or down based on volumes
- EMR: Meditech
- Stroke certified; however, still transfer patients who require lytics and/or arterial thrombectomy
- "Top 20" Rural Community Hospitals in the nation-the only hospital in Texas on the list
- Hospitalists admit 85% of patients from the Emergency Department
- Stroke patients who receive fibrinolytic or who meet criteria for arterial thrombectomy are transferred to San Antonio after consultation with a Tele-Neurologist
- Specialty backup includes 24/7 cardiology (including cath lab and most cardiologists do PE thrombectomies), general surgery, ortho, and OB/GYN
- Interventional radiology available during the week
- Vascular surgery coverage averaging 20-25 days per month
- Urology coverage 50% of the time
- Primary Stroke Center certification expected by end of 2025
