Locum PA – Primary & Emergency Care – Remote Interior AK

Location: Interior Alaska

Job Type: 1099 Locum Tenens Contract

Date Range: March 12th – 26th, 2026. Additional, ongoing coverage needed.

Compensation:

• $900.00 daily rate (earned every day on assignment)
• $275.00 daily on-call rate (earned every day when on-call)
• $1350.00 daily holiday rate (limited holidays apply)
• 2 paid travel days, paid at the daily rate (1 arrival, 1 departure)

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
• After hours and weekend call

Responsibilities:

• Patient Volume, Clinic: Averages 7 per day, one hour per patient
• Patient Volume, ER: Averages 2 per day
• On-Call Details:
  • Solo call, but other providers will respond if needed during an emergency
  • Call is solo but with backup if needed
  • Monday – Thursday: Call screener available
• Staffing Mix: 2-3 additional providers working in clinic; No Nursing or Medical Assistant staff

Position Requirements:

• Active Alaska State Physician Assistant (PA) license
• Active BLS & ACLS
• ATLS & PALS preferred, but not required
• Active DEA registration
• Provider required to draw and process labs, do X-Rays, and room patients
• Minimum 2 years of solo full-spectrum emergency experience
• Solid Primary Care and Emergency Medicine experience.
• PEDS & OB experience preferred and very helpful, not not required.
• Direct experience with medevac and patient care stabilization including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skills
• Alaska bush experience highly preferred
• Must be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture
