Locums – Lansing, Michigan, NP/PA Emergency Medicine Opening

Lansing, Michigan | Level III ED

• Board Certified NP or PA

• Local provider only (no exceptions)

• Michigan license active at time of name clear

  • IMLC not accepted

• DEA: Verbal confirmation required at name clear

• Certifications: ACLS and ATLS (required)

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience

• ED Level: Level III

• Opportunity Type: Locums / PRN

• Coverage Model: Ongoing float pool for EM APPs

• Referral Fees: Available

• APP Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

• Coverage Need: 7 days per week

• APP Coverage: One APP shift daily

• Physician Coverage:

  • Single physician coverage from 2:00 AM – 8:00 AM

  • Peak coverage: 3 physicians from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• Residents: Emergency Medicine residents present (approx. 2 shifts/day)

  • No APP supervision required for resident cases

• Practice Setting: Fast Track (“VUE”) – 10-bed unit within the ED

• Autonomy: APP works independently

• Physician Support: Attending physicians available 24/7 for consultation

• Annual ED Volume: ~40,150 visits

• Patients Per Day: ~110 (divided among providers)

• ED Beds: 50

• Fast Track: Yes (VUE)

• Hospital Admissions from ED: 60%

• ED Patients Admitted Daily: 20%

• Admission Orders:

  • Bed requested by ED

  • Admission orders entered by house officer (IM or surgical residents)

• Deliveries: Sent directly to Labor & Delivery

• EMR: Cerner
