Emergency Medicine APP – Float Pool | PRN Shifts | Michigan

We are building a dedicated Float Pool of Advanced Practice Providers (NP/PA) to cover PRN Emergency Department shifts. Once accepted, open dates will be shared via email.

🔹 Job Details

• Shift: 10-hour midlevel shift (11:00 AM – 9:00 PM)

• Coverage Type: PRN / Float Pool

• Practice Setting: Emergency Department

• APP works autonomously with physician support available on-site

• Reason for coverage: Recruitment gap

🔹 Clinical Environment

• Average patient volume: 20 patients/day

• Number of beds: 25

• Annual ER volume: 20,000

• Trauma Level: Provisional Level 4

• EHR System: Cerner

• Support staff:

  • 1 Full-time NP

  • 2 PRN PAs

• Consultants available: Ortho, OB, General Surgery, Neuro, Urology

• 24/7 availability: Radiology, Lab, OR, Pathology

• Surgical services: Orthopedics

🔹 Additional Operational Details

• ED staff respond to house codes

• Admission orders written by Hospitalist or ED physician

• Ambulance and transfer protocols in place

• Credentialing timeline: ~90 days

✅ Requirements (Mandatory)

• Board Certified NP/PA – REQUIRED

• Michigan State License – REQUIRED

• Local providers only – REQUIRED

• Clean background – REQUIRED

• ACLS / PALS – REQUIRED

• DEA – verbal confirmation at name clear

• NPDB self-query (within 30 days) – REQUIRED

• Availability must be provided at submission
