Greater Lansing is seeking experienced, Board-Certified Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for locum tenens coverage in its Level III Emergency Department. This opportunity is ideal for APPs who are confident working independently in a fast-track setting with 24/7 attending physician support.

Available Shifts

  • January 28, 2026: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
  • February 2, 2026: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
  • February 10, 2026: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • February 27, 2026: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

🕒 Single daily APP shift | 12-hour coverage | Ongoing shift schedule

Position Highlights

  • Independent APP role in Fast Track (VUE) – 10-bed unit
  • Attending physicians available 24/7 for guidance and consults
  • No resident supervision required
  • High-functioning ED with strong physician and resident presence
  • Predictable schedule and consistent workflow

Emergency Department Overview

  • Level III Trauma Center
  • Annual Volume: ~40,150 visits
  • Patients/Day: ~110 (divided among providers)
  • Fast Track integrated within ED
  • Cerner EMR
  • 50 ED bed-hours
  • Admissions:
    • ~60% of hospital admissions originate from the ED
    • ~20% admitted daily
  • Staffing Model:
    • One APP shift daily (11a–11p)
    • Peak physician coverage: 3 physicians (2p–6p)
    • Single physician overnight (2a–8a)
    • Emergency Medicine residents on-site (no APP supervision)

  • AABB-certified Blood Bank
  • Pathology
  • OR & all surgical specialties
  • Deliveries sent directly to Labor & Delivery
  • Transfer protocols:
    • Pediatrics → Sparrow
    • Stroke → McLaren Flint
    • Severe trauma → Sparrow

Requirements :

  • Board-Certified NP or PA
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience
  • Active Michigan license at time of name clear (IMLC not accepted)
  • DEA
  • ACLS & ATLS
  • Local provider only
