McLaren Central is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine NP or PA for locum tenens coverage due to a recruitment gap. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident APP who enjoys autonomous patient care with on-site physician backup at all times.
Available Shifts
- January 17, 2026: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- April 9, 2026: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
🕚 10-hour midlevel shift | Day coverage
Position Highlights
- Autonomous APP role – see patients independently
- Physician always on site for consultation
- Stable, collegial ED team
- Consistent mid-shift hours (no nights)
Emergency Department Overview
- 25 ED beds
- Annual Volume: ~20,000 visits
- Patients/Day: ~20 per APP
- EHR: Cerner
- Trauma Level: Provisional Level IV
- Admissions: ~8%
- Transfers: ~2%
- Fast Track: No
- ED staff responds to house codes
- Hospitalist or ED physician writes admission orders
- Paramedic/ambulance radio supervision required
Clinical Resources & Support
- 24/7 Radiology (CT, MRI, X-ray)
- 24/7 Lab & Blood Bank (AABB-certified)
- 24/7 OR availability
- Surgical services: Orthopedics
- Consultants available: Ortho, OB, General Surgery, Neuro, Urology
- Referral centers:
- Bay Medical Center (~40 minutes)
- Lansing (~1 hour 15 minutes)
Requirements:
- Board-Certified NP or PA
- Extensive Emergency Department experience
- Active Michigan license at time of name clear (IMLC not accepted)
- DEA (verbal confirmation at name clear)
- ACLS & PALS
- Local provider only
