Locum Emergency Medicine NP/PA Opportunity

Seeking an experienced Locum Emergency Medicine NP or PA to provide coverage due to a recruitment gap. This role is ideal for an advanced practice provider with extensive ED experience who is comfortable working autonomously while having an on-site physician available for consultation.

Schedule & Coverage

• 10-hour shifts from 11:00 AM–9:00 PM

• Coverage dates from January 17, 2026 through April 9, 2026

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~90 days

Practice Setting

• Emergency Department at a provisional Level IV trauma center

• 25-bed ED with approximately 20,000 annual visits

• Average of 20 patients per provider per day

• No fast-track area

• Cerner EMR

Clinical Environment & Support

• APP works independently with physician support on site

• Team includes 1 full-time NP and 2 PRN PAs

• Full 24/7 access to radiology, laboratory, blood bank, pathology, and OR

• Surgical and specialty consults available (Ortho, OB, General Surgery, Neuro, Urology)

• Hospitalist or ED physician manages admission orders

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage ED patients across a broad acuity range

• Participate in ambulance/EMS radio oversight

• Assist with ED response to hospital codes

• Provide care to obstetric patients presenting through the ED when applicable

Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA

• Active Michigan license (IMLC not accepted)

• Local provider only

• Extensive emergency medicine experience

• ACLS and PALS certification

• DEA (verbal confirmation at name clear)

• Clean background for expedited credentialing

• Required immunizations and occupational health documentation
